The role
Reporting to the Geotechnical Superintendent on site and working in a close knit team of 11, you will be responsible for the following;-
- Leading and managing a team of 2 geotechnical engineers
- All requirements of the ground control management plan (GCMP) including data collection, tactical ground support design, rock mass monitoring & QAQC
- Analysis and interpretation of geotechnical data for input into short, medium and long term mine design (geometry and sequence)
- Management of geotechnical databases (primarily Deswik)
- Internal auditing of geotechnical practices ensuring consistency with regulatory frameworks and the company strategy
- High priority geotechnical tasks including, but not limited to, Cave and Inrush management
- Ongoing mentoring, coaching and guidance to graduate engineers
- Collaboration with internal and external stakeholders to drive value add projects with the company HWWT principles and strategy in mind.
- Consistent communications to key stakeholders with respect to geotechnical hazard management
