Randstad are delighted to be partnering with a not-for-profit organisation situated in Melbourne's cbd. Their work has truly driven positive change within the community. They are seeking a Senior Financial Account to join a supportive and highly collaborative finance team to assist in the organisation’s success.
As the Senior Financial Accountant, you will report to the Financial Accounting and Reporting Manager and lead a high performing five person team. You will be responsible for overseeing the day-to-day workflow activities, as well as preparation of financial accounts, external financial reporting and fostering relationships with the auditor team and external stakeholders.
- Lead a high performing finance team, improving accounting processes, systems and workflow for day-to-day efficiency.
- Oversee and ensure accurate and efficient operation of all aspects of general and subsidiary ledgers, accounts receivable, asset registers, grant management, capital projects/developments, equity reserves, insurance
- Ensure the accuracy and integrity of financial records through monthly Balance Sheet reconciliations, systematic reviews of revenue and expenses
- Assist in preparation of annual financial reports including consolidated report engagement with external auditors
- Liaise with the Financial Planning and Analysis team with budget, forecast, analysis to finalise monthly financial reports to the Executive, Committee and Board
- Provide sound financial advice to address and resolve financial accounting issues
- Assist the Financial Planning and Analysis team, deliver process improvements ensuring policies and procedures are implemented, reviewed, improved and remain fit for purpose
- Develop and lead on building strong relationships and collaborations with key stakeholders internally and externally
- Ac hoc projects when required
- You will have high-level communication skills, both written and oral
- You will have dedication to creating strong working relationships with internal and external stakeholders
- Advanced computer literacy skills across of a range of financial packages, Excel, Access, Word and other Microsoft packages
- Previous experience in the construction or not-for-profit sector will be favourably considered but not essential
- Willingness to undertake fit2work checks
- Agreed to comply with Child Safe Environments policies and procedures
- Sensitivity to issues affecting socially disadvantaged groups
- Current driver’s license and willingness to travel across multiple sites and interstate as required
