Description:
The Senior Facilities Manager leads a team of Facilities professionals across the Sydney Opera House building fabric contract, ensuring a consistent standard and best practice approach in the delivery of Facilities Management services. This role will manage client relationship obligations and act as an escalation point where required.
The Senior Facilities Manager is expected to foresee and take proactive management of issues to mitigate any potential risks as well as lead, develop and coach their team.
About The Role
- Act as an escalation point across the team to support Facilities Managers and Coordinators and have the technical or practical skills and training for the relevant assets
- Assist direct reports in the management of site operations to ensure the continuity of property services with minimum disruption to the clients’ business operation
- Ensure the implementation of scheduled routine tasks and preventative maintenance activities
- Provide input into the Engineering & Asset Management team regarding scheduled routine tasks and preventative maintenance activities to ensure equipment and routine services are delivered in line with compliance obligations and client site requirements
- Ensure newly installed equipment is appropriately flagged and managed under Defect Liability Periods and warranty periods
- Ensure statutory maintenance compliance categories are utilised effectively by site
- Negotiate/approve quotes after appropriate technical and practical assessment or liaise with vendor partner/s regarding alternative solutions
- Manages the budget and financial performance of client portfolio
- Provides input into and manages annual FM budget preparation
About You
- Minimum 5 year’s experience as a Facilities Manager/builder or someone who has transitioned from a carpentry background into facilities
- Excellent experience in stakeholder/contractor management
- Strong communication skills, both written and verbal
- Experience in meeting client needs within agreed timelines (SLAs)
