Senior Ecologist

A well-established environmental consultancy in inner Brisbane is seeking a Senior Ecologist to join their team. The company specializes in delivering sustainable ecological solutions for development projects, ensuring a balance between environmental protection and commercial objectives. We are also sourcing a Team Lead, Principal Ecologist and Intermediate Ecologists as part of a new statement of work.

Key Responsibilities:

• Lead and mentor the ecological team, ensuring the successful completion of project deliverables.
• Conduct vegetation identification, habitat assessments, and mapping.
• Oversee ecological assessments for a variety of development projects, ensuring compliance with local, state, and federal environmental regulations.
• Work closely with clients, government agencies, and industry professionals to deliver sustainable environmental solutions.
• Develop and implement vegetation and habitat management plans.

Required Skills:

• Strong expertise in ecology, including plant identification and knowledge of relevant legislation.
• Excellent project management, leadership, and communication skills.
• Ability to manage multiple stakeholders and deliver high-quality outcomes.

Qualifications & Experience:

• A degree in Environmental Science or equivalent Tertiary Qualification.
• Consulting experience and familiarity with regional regulations are essential.
