Senior Digital Content Designer

 

Description:

The Senior Content Designer will provide digital communications and web content support to the Student Pathways and Careers team, liaising with external agencies, project teams, business representatives and subject matter experts to deliver an exceptional end-to-end user experience for students and staff delivering career education in our schools.

  • Coordinate and deliver best-practice online projects, consultancy services and expert advice resulting in end-user satisfaction and positive working relationships with business units across the department.
  • Collaborate with subject matter experts to map the user journey for students undertaking career education, and teachers and department staff involved in delivering career education in public high schools across South Australia.
  • Develop optimised user journeys based on UX best-practice and human-centred design that will help feed into the longer-term development roadmap for the career education team.
  • Ensure compliance with legislation and online accessibility standards that efficiently and effectively addresses user-needs and improve the reputation of the department as an organisation that provides user-friendly content for all.
  • Develop educational materials and provide support and feedback that builds the capacity of the department to deliver accessible best-practice online services.
  • Develop and maintain partnerships across the department that build employee understanding of best-practice online communications standards resulting in business units taking responsibility for the performance and maintenance of their web content.

Key Capabilities:

Proficiency in the management of digital infrastructure: Proven experience in evaluating online content performance by monitoring and analysing Quality Assurance reports, user behaviour, website statistics and other forms of customer data to provide best practice and evidence-based recommendations for improving service delivery offered by department mediums, including websites, e-communications platforms, social media networks and network analytics

Customer service approach to web support: Excellent interpersonal skills and proven ability to deliver high quality customer service to stakeholders, project team and subject matter experts.

Digital communication skills: Detailed knowledge and proven experience in implementing communications and media processes and methodologies (writing for online mediums for example).

Time management and task delivery: Demonstrated ability to deliver desired outcomes within short timeframes, utilising proficient time management skills.

Website development knowledge: Basic understanding of website development methodologies, to articulate required updates to external and internal developers and demonstrated knowledge of Search Engine Optimisation practices, providing research-driven recommendations to improve website rankings on search engines.

Project management: Applying project management expertise to effectively manage the end-to-end lifecycle of a project from planning to execution and delivery, stakeholder engagement and other associated activities as required.

Information architecture and content design: Applying user-centric interface design standards and usability and accessibility web standard best practices, including Information/Content Architecture and knowledge of information delivery.
