Our Digital Analytics and Insights Team is currently looking for a Senior Content Designer to provide all process and policy management of the Digital Content Management System (CMS), for a wide variety of content and different types of media. This role also involves providing customer-centric design to enhance the life journey of NSW Planning Portal processes, products and tools.

  • Maintain an up to date and accurate NSW Planning Portal digital footprint, including tasks such as editing, proofreading, uploading, reviewing and publishing. This includes using the tools provided to maintain all the correct links and information to other NSW Government agencies
  • Maintain and implement the master content calendar and roadmap for ePlanning’s digital properties
  • Provide timely, expert technical advice on contemporary developments on the digital based website application
  • Collaborate with the Department’s central communications team to support internal and external stakeholders to meet their legislative obligations
  • Ensure the NSW Planning Portal conforms to NSW Government requirements for accessibility, content and branding thereby providing a premium user experience.
  • Provide clear and expert advice, support and training to content editors, senior management and staff on digital issues including content management systems, search engine optimisation, best practice for digital standards, information design and user experience.
  • Provide in-depth analysis, insights and improvements to the end-to-end online customer journey, monitoring, reporting and evaluating online activities through web analytics and other marketing tools.
  • Ongoing quality monitoring against Government-mandated WCAG standards, government editorial standards, and quality policies using website monitoring tools
  • Previous experience in digital copywriting in different styles to suit varying audiences
  • Experience in publishing using an Enterprise Content Management system
  • Strong understanding of web usability, SEO and information management standards
  • Understanding of WCAG 2.0
  • Strong communication and negotiation skills, along with an excellent grasp of the English language, grammar and attention to detail
  • Ability to articulate complex technical information into content that can be easily understood by non-technical persons
  • Proficient in JIRA and project management systems
  • Proficient in the CMS platform eg: Drupal Previous experience in designing life journeys ie Customer centric products and tools
