Fantastic opportunity to join a Federal Government Department in a branch that provides communications support to the Ageing and Aged Care Group. The Branch supports Aged Care reforms by ensuring older Australians are aware of the benefits of the reforms and ensures that they work with older Australians and the sector on how to best implement the reforms.

This is initially a 6 month labour hire contract, with genuine potential for extension or to apply for permanency in future rounds. Canberra, Melbourne, Brisbane or Adelaide location with flexibility to work 2 days from home. Full-time or part-time of up to 0.8FTE considered. Attractive hourly rate negotiable commensurate with experience.

Key Responsibilities will include:

  • Support the implementation of communication, engagement, change and media strategies for key departmental projects and initiatives with the support of your own team
  • Support in the management of internal clients, including drafting internal communication plans and strategies
  • Lead and manage other duties in the team including drafting corporate messaging, authoring corporate messaging, SharePoint publishing, inbox management and internal events management
  • Support team performance, productivity and accountability for outcomes

In addition to a customer focused and flexible working style, the successful candidate will be an organised and detail-oriented worker with a proven ability to work with a diverse range of stakeholders. Other Key Requirements include:

  • Exceptional communication and/or engagement skills, both written and verbal
  • Experience working in communications or stakeholder engagement
  • Sound judgement and ability to work in a fast-paced environment
  • An ability to form strong and productive relationships
  • IT literacy, with the ability to pick up new systems
  • Personal drive and integrity while achieving results
  • Tertiary qualifications in Communications, PR, Marketing or related field will be highly regarded
  • Australian citizenship essential
