Senior Communications Adviser

 

Description:

We’re seeking a Senior Internal Communications Advisor to lead internal communications for the NSW Business and WestConnex.


As the Senior Internal Communications Advisor, you’ll support the NSW leadership team to develop and deliver messages through various communication channels such as the intranet (SharePoint), meetings, events and variety of other channels. The key focus will be to continue increasing employee engagement by helping teams to coordinate, influence, collaborate and support change by delivering strategic communications and campaigns.


Day-to-day, you will:

  • Develop and implement an internal communications strategy that is aligned to the overall Corporate Affairs strategy and broader NSW and WestConnex business objectives, that connects employees to the vision and direction of the group.
  • Create and deliver high-value communication with a planned and consistent approach to engage with all NSW and WestConnex employees through internal communications.
  • Manage key relationships with Group Executives and their leadership teams, while also providing strategic internal communications advice as needed.
  • Ensure content is timely, accurate, well structured, engaging and aligned to business priorities.
  • Identify and support engaging events to increase employee engagement such as NSW market meetings and Transurban quarterly updates.
  • Assist with measuring and analysing internal communications results to inform an improve current and future communications plans, strategies and tactics that enhances value and efficiency.

This role will suit someone with a curious mind and transferrable skills and experiences, including:

  • Exceptional experience within communications. Ideally you would have gained experience from roles within internal communications, external communication, marketing communications or similar.
  • Exceptional writing and editorial skills, including the ability to manage and produce high quality written material for a wide range of audiences and shared across a variety of channels.
  • You have well-developed interpersonal skills with an emphasis on leadership, stakeholder management and the ability to influence.
  • Skills in advanced planning, project management, time management, problem solving and decision making.
  • Ability to work in a dynamic and ambiguous environment.
  • High level of attention to detail.
  • Ability to adapt to changing priorities and the flexibility to work across different areas as needed.
