Description:
The Senior Cloud Security Engineer holds a crucial position within the energy cloud operations team, responsible for safeguarding the security and reliability of both digital and physical environments. This role encompasses the creation, execution, and upkeep of security measures that adhere to industry standards and regulations. Effective collaboration with diverse teams is key, as the successful candidate spearheads security initiatives and offers specialized advice on all security-related aspects.
Key Responsibilities
- Designing and implementing security solutions for the energy Azure cloud, including pilots and proof of concept (PoC) initiatives.
- Acting as a Subject Matter Expert (SME), providing specialist advice to integrate security considerations into project specifications and requirements.
- Leading architecture and technical discussions with the architecture group, focusing on cloud security, compliance, scalability, performance, and high availability/disaster recovery (HA/DR).
- Validating new services as the energy cloud expands, identifying and remediating vulnerabilities and security issues.
- Reporting on risks and establishing frameworks to enhance security posture.
- Mentoring and guiding other team members on security best practices and mindset.
Required Experience
- 7+ years of IT experience, with 2-3 years of enterprise experience as a security engineer on Azure.
- Relevant qualifications in Electrical/Electronic/Computer Science Engineering or equivalent industry certifications.
- Proficiency in security frameworks such as CPS234, ISO27001, PCI-DSS, NIST.
- Strong understanding of Microsoft Cloud Platform features and capabilities, including Security, Firewalls, RedisCache, Key Vault, ASR, Networking, OMS, Blob Storage, Resource Groups, NSG, Application Insights, SQL Server, Sql DB, and Load-Balancers.
- Experience working in an agile environment with effective communication and stakeholder management skills.
