JLT Risk Solutions Pty Ltd (a business of Marsh McLennan) is the appointed Scheme Manager to the Local Government Association Workers Compensation Scheme (LGAWCS). The LGAWCS manages Claims, Return to Work, Work Health and Safety and Risk initiatives for all of Local Government in South Australia and is registered as a Self-Insured employer with RTWSA.

The LGAWCS is committed to achieving excellence in Injury Management, WHS and Risk for Local Government (Members) and has been recognised for its excellent performance in RTWSA initiated reviews into workers compensation in SA.

In this role, you will be the trusted resource that our Members will refer to and the role will focus on providing timely services to injured workers in our Scheme.

We will count on you to:

• Provide proactive claims liability review, determination recommendations and advisory services that enables the early return to work and mitigation of lost time injuries from start to end

• Implement early intervention and engagement with RTW services

• Prepare for, attend and contribute to Tribunal matters

• Participate within medical case conferences with GP’s and specialists, as required

• Work closely with the Manager, Team Leader, Claims, RTW & IM Consultants, WHS / Risk Practitioners and Members

• Complete various projects to support the Claims and RTW function, as required

• Undertake all duties in line with the Return to Work Act 2014, Regulations and the Code of Conduct for Self- Insurers

What you need to have:

• Experience in delivering claims services with a strong return to work focus

• Exceptional relationship building skills

• Exceptional communication and negotiation skills

• Ability to work autonomously as well as a part of a team

• Ability to travel to metropolitan and regional locations as required

• Understanding or prior experience of self-insurance desirable

• Experience managing multi-site locations desirable
