You'll be responsible for
 

  • Assist the actuary to use our Multi Year Financial Model (MYFM) to deliver analysis, projections and plan inputs.
  • Contribute to the development, improvement and implementation of the MYFM for business use
  • Develop BAU reporting/insights focussed on profitability assessment.
  • Discuss and compare views of profitability with different divisions (again, at corporate, portfolio, annual business cohort and product levels)
  • Assist the actuary to validate and review actuarial assumptions including attritional/large/CAT loss ratio in the planning process.
  • Ad hoc analysis to support strategic initiatives and reviews e.g. to exit or enter classes of business or channels. This will include considering and providing advice on business steering implications from profitability assessments.
     

About You
 

  • Tertiary qualifications in Actuarial Studies, Mathematics, Statistics, Finance or a related discipline.
  • At least 2 years’ experience in traditional actuarial work.
  • Ability to interpret and analyse complex information, extract meaningful insights and evaluate options for decision making.
  • Demonstrated evidence of technical proficiency with systems, software and reporting tools.
  • Ability to manage internal client expectations.
  • Ability to plan effectively, organise tasks and manage competing demands.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
