An opportunity is now available for a Senior Accountant to join our team in Melbourne. Reporting to the Head of Finance Operations , the Senior accountant is responsible for supporting the business operations and the Head of Finance Operations in all preparatory work including processes, policies and procedures required for the Joint Venture. The successful candidate will be tasked with overseeing and ensuring the accurate and timely delivery of all statutory and regulatory reporting requirements for the Joint Venture including compliance with accounting standards, taxation legislation, and adherence to a robust internal control environment.

The key responsibilities of the role will include but not be limited to:

  • Deputy of Head of Finance Operations when required
  • Supervise accounting team (onshore and offshore)
  • Support the Head of Finance Operations in all preparatory work for Day 1 e.g. processes, policies and procedures required for the JV
  • Provide Australian GAAP and local taxation expertise and knowledge
  • Contribute to UAT phase for new General Ledger system (SAP) and relevant sub ledger systems
  • Supervise all elements of financial accounting e.g. General Ledger, AP and AR entries, reporting and analysis
  • Lead and execute on the monthly account reconciliation cycle e.g. payroll, PPE, inventory, intercompany accounts and taxation accounts
  • Play a key role in the monthly and annual closing activities within the required timeframe
  • Play a key role in the preparation of Group (Worldline), Regulatory and ATO reporting
  • Support the implementation and maintenance of key financial controls

The successful candidate will possess the following skills and experience:

  • 3+ years direct experience in a similar role
  • CA / CPA qualified or recognised equivalent
  • Relevant tertiary qualification
  • Strong technical accounting knowledge and skills
  • Advanced computer skills (Microsoft Excel, Word and database management)
  • Experience in the finance or Tech industry (desirable)
  • Excellent written and oral communication skills
  • Highly developed interpersonal skills with a high degree of self-awareness and professional ethic
  • Proven organisational and time management skills
  • Ability to work independently and as a member of a team, as required
  • Ability to analyse, interpret and communicate complex financial information to a diverse audience.
  • Possess a National Police Clearance (no older than 6 months) or willing to obtain one
