Senior Accountant

 

Description:

Reporting to an entrepreneurial and highly influential Finance Manager, this Senior Accountant is a highly visible and crucial role. The purpose of the role is to assist the Finance Manager and CFO by building a best-of-breed finance function thus enabling commercially responsible decision making. In this highly autonomous and empowering role you will have exposure across the entire business including Sales, Marketing and Operations. This is a critical role to assist in driving the business through its aggressive hyper-growth ‘expansion phase’ through the building of strong foundations supported by a solid finance process and commercial framework.

 

As the Senior Accountant, you will support the CFO's remit in ultimate accountability for end to end financial management across the company. Critical to the role will be developing a 'Vision' for superior service in finance. This will involve driving automation and creating efficiencies in finance processes.

 

This role not only requires an excellent technical and analytical mind but also someone that can think outside of the box and not be afraid to challenge the status quo.

 

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:

Reporting to a high performing Finance Manager and working closely with the senior leadership team including the CFO, your key responsibilities will include:

 

Financial reporting and analysis

  • Prepare & Assist monthly reporting and analysis of key financial metrics including creating KPI reports
  • Submit statutory reporting including intercompany reconciliations

 

Finance projects

  • You will work on system implementation across the finance team
  • Streamline processes and procedures to ensure efficiencies are met

 

Audit & compliance

  • Work with Finance Manager to coordinate audit process
  • Key liaison for auditors
  • Ensuring internal compliance with key processes and controls (including documentation)

 

Cash flow reporting

  • Work with Finance Manager to ensure accuracy and completeness of cashflow along with all submissions

 

Tax submissions

  • Key contact for tax advisors, organisation, coordination, etc.
  • Assist with Transfer Pricing

 

Month End and Year End reporting

  • Preparing the monthly profit and loss, and balance sheet reports
  • Prepare and post monthly journals
  • Assist with the preparation of statutory accounts
  • Prepare and review balance sheet reconciliations
  • Liaise with broader finance team ensuring compliance with quarter end sign off

 

SKILLS AND EXPERIENCE:

You have at least 2-3 years’ experience in a Financial Accountant position. You may also be a Big 4/Mid-Tier first mover looking for your first step into a true commercial position. You are CA/CPA qualified. You have a deep desire to progress your career into a more commercial and analytical path.
