ROLE OVERVIEW The position of Student Year Advisor reports to the Student Wellbeing Coordinator and
is responsible for a Secondary year student cohort within Years 7-12. This role builds on
the school’s strong reputation in providing a biblically grounded and Christ-centred
school education with an emphasis on providing a nurturing and caring environment for
all students.

Our focus is to enable students to be confident learners who strive to use their God
given gifts to live a life to God’s glory.

As a Student Year Advisor, under the direction of your Student Wellbeing Coordinator,
you will oversee student wellbeing – i.e., pastoral care, learning engagement and
student behaviour – supporting these student’s emotional, physical, academic, social,
vocational and spiritual wellbeing.

This will involve implementing and modelling student wellbeing initiatives and ensuring
compliance to the school’s wellbeing policies and procedures amongst your student
cohort. Assisting you in this task are Teachers and Learning Support staff who interact
closely with students daily.

You will implement a child safe culture that promotes positive wellbeing for students
and implements the school’s discipline and welfare programs. You will contribute to
student assemblies, share in staff devotions, be involved in the wider life of the school
and help to instil positive cultural expectations in Secondary School.

You will also ensure a strong Parent Partnership presence that supports our community
on both a day-to-day level as well as in school events and programs. You will also be
appropriately supported in school initiatives to maintain a proper work/life balance,
ensuring your own wellbeing.
