The opportunity
The Government Sales manager will work closely with the leadership team to design and implement business strategies required to achieve sales and retain existing customers. This role will play a critical leadership role across the Government team by providing guidance, support and direction to ensure strategies are implemented. You will be responsible for sales growth resulting in exceeding sales targets. Your drive, positive attitude and leadership will lead employee engagement and consistent achievement of the team targets.

Responsibilities
- Performance, growth and development of the Government Team whilst ensuring you role model appropriate behaviours through your leadership
- Implement priority initiatives to drive sales results. Retaining existing customers, building sales capability, and creating a high-performance culture
- Implementation of a National Retention Strategy and churn reduction strategy across Government Sales base
- Conduct sales meetings, pipeline and KPI reviews weekly
- Successfully maintain the value of the existing portfolio through effective customer lifecycle management and completion of re-sign activities that maximise commercial outcomes.
- Review status of all active tenders
- Review short- and long-term Customer relationship quality and key relationship development activities
- Represent TPG at Government-related vertical meetings and trade events whenever requested, continually promoting the company and its services
- Conduct Quarterly Business reviews with each sales team member
- Driving Optimum sales and revenue performance across the Government Sales Team. Building and driving X-Sell and Product initiatives
- Implementation and accountability of Government account plans
- Thorough understanding of the obligations, procurement processes and procurement panels involved for government sales both existing and new nationally
- Advocacy of TPGs suitability and requirement to be on all government procurement panels.
- Be active in meeting existing customers and prospects along your team and act as the first layer of escalation
- Manage existing customer data and campaigns for Sales Team
- Build and maintain strong business relationships with key stakeholders both internally and externally
- Superior influencing and operational skills to build excellent relationships with the Enterprise Sales Teams to achieve profitability targets
- Provide necessary training, development and mentoring to maintain high level of engagement and operational excellence. Create an environment in which the team can fulfill their performance and career potential
- Keep track on local competitor activity, reporting any significant developments to the sales team and TPG executives (including Sales, Product, Service etc)
- Co-operate with cross functional leaders within TPG to increase the value the company delivers to all its Customers
- Consistently follow and act as a role model for TPG’s corporate values and cultural guidelines
- You will be responsible for identifying and leading improvement opportunities within the team, as well as ensuring appropriate controls are in place to manage risks, including the protection of TPG systems and information.
