About the Role
As the Sales Manager you will be responsible for maximizing total revenue potential for Hyatt Centric Melbourne across the Corporate, Government, Events and room only group’s market segments with a business focus on both retention and acquisition. Demonstrating a proactive approach to sales, encouraging effective inter-departmental team work while being an internal role model for Hyatt selling techniques and Hyatt Centric customer service is crucial to the role.
Working in a team of 6, you will support the Director of Sales and Marketing in the day to day operations as well as supporting the team to achieve our purpose.
This varied and dynamic role provides a chance to develop your Hospitality career within an international company; either in Australia or overseas.
Some of the responsibilities include:
- Drive customer loyalty in order to grow share of the account by delivering service excellence throughout each customer experience
- Negotiate group business, guest room rates, meeting room rental, and hotel services within assigned markets that meets or exceeds hotel revenue goal
- Ensure accurate and complete use of the sales system per SOP including recording all bookings and lost business
- Achieve established monthly personal plan targets set in conjunction with the Director of Sales and Marketing
- Maintain existing relationships with key travel management companies and develop new relationships to ensure optimum exposure within the market segment
- Work with the Director of Sales and Marketing to review hotel sales targets and pricing strategies for all key accounts
- Attend industry events as required by the DOSM and in accordance with supporting the profile and results of the hotels. Such events may be outside standard working hours.
- To maintain professional business confidentiality
- Preparation of business proposals/quotes, issuing of contracts, communications, data input and information records.
- Assist sales colleagues where required with account management and demonstrating Hyatt’s selling techniques
- Plan and undertake entertainment of potentially productive accounts
- Weekly site inspections with customers and where necessary in house entertainment
- Review personal business plans monthly
- Actively cross-sell all other Hyatt hotels, especially those in Australia
- Ensure all reports and correspondence are completed accurately and punctually
- Actively pursue marketing intelligence and potential business opportunities
Qualifications
Qualifications
- Degree or Diploma in Hospitality Management, Sales & Marketing, Commerce or other related business qualifications
- Previous experience in a similar role within Melbourne’s five-star hotel market
- A strong attention to detail and exceptional organisational / time-management skills
- Proven experience in achieving sales targets, acquiring and retaining business
- Excellent interpersonal and communication skills
- The ability to create a positive first impression with an understanding of the importance of five-star grooming standards
