Senior Sales Engineer - Australia and New Zealand

The Senior Sales Engineer supports our sellers, partners and account managers by providing technical solution support throughout the sales process. This includes initial sales engagements, running proof-of-concept projects, educating the channel, and evangelising Fastly products in the market.

You’ll be engaging with some of the most innovative companies in Australia, helping them deliver secure, fast and scalable solutions on a modern, real-time, expanding delivery platform.

Fastly Sales Engineers collect and identify requirements, develop provable solutions, and help both new and existing customers realise the value of Fastly. Addressing any technical objections, Fastly Sales Engineers bring expertise and a consultative approach to every engagement. The successful candidate will have a strong desire to simplify legacy customer infrastructure to resolve speed, visibility and release process issues.

This role supports Australian and New Zealand opportunities, reporting to the APAC Sales Engineering manager who is based in Sydney, Australia.

What You'll Do

  • Identifies strategic customer use cases and recommends solutions.
  • Supports a team of senior sellers throughout the opportunity lifecycle, this includes technical qualification, demonstrations, and proof of concepts to close.
  • Capable of scoping requirements then developing and customizing demos that address a customers business case and presenting them to customers.
  • Provide product capability positioning, including differentiators with our competitor’s products and services.
  • Contribute to the success of the APAC region by participating in team, product and whole of company events.
  • A self starter who can be responsible for and run multiple concurrent high visibility projects with a high degree of accuracy.
  • Can work remotely as well as directly with customers; Fastly utilises Slack, Vivun, Zoom, Jira, GSuite, Confluence, GitHub and SFDC as well as a number of sales and marketing applications. All documentation is available from docs.fastly.com.
  • Keep up to date on and report on applicable new technology and technology-related trends.
