Reporting to the General Manager, Ports & Government Relations, the position includes the following responsibilities:

Drive forward and manage commercial relationships to secure new contracts & account manage trading accounts
The ability to communicate effectively with clients, colleagues, and external stakeholders. Develop and maintain a network in the Port Logistics rail industry with a view of being the point of call for port sales enquiries.
Identify potential clients and their business needs and challenges.
Ability to follow an end to end Business Development process which includes lead generation, protective client, compilation of scope of works, formulating commercial and operational solution, conversation, implementation and re occurring account management and follow up
A thorough understanding of SCT’s Ports capabilities, including state capacity, rail services, rolling stock levels in order to identify the opportunity gaps
Creating OPEX Costing models based on scope of works for prospective customers. Create Pricing Proposals based on Costing models, deliver these to new & existing customers.
Maintain and update customer rate cards on internal invoicing systems
Conducting market research to identify selling possibilities and evaluate customer needs
The ability accurately to write clear and concise reports, documents, emails and letters.
Ensuring that the needs of the customers are always put first and that they are always provided with excellent customer service

Desired Skills and Experience

The successful candidate will be able to demonstrate:

Diploma -Supply Chain, Logistics & International Trade
Drivers Licence
Year 12 VCE
Excellent verbal and written communication skills
A professional with strong negotiation attributes and creativity
Understanding and experience of the Port logistics industry, operations, and systems
Working knowledge of the Rail industry
Background in sales or customer service experience
Can do attitude who is a team player and contributor
