An opportunity has arisen for a part-time (50%) suitably experienced and motivated Research Officer to join existing research projects in the School of Education and the Australian Research Council Centre of Excellence for the Digital Child. The Digital Child Centre aims to bring together national and international experts and partners to investigate children’s digital experiences including a world-first study of 3000 Australian families and children from birth to eight years of age.

The Role

The successful candidate will work across research areas primarily in the “educated child” stream which draws upon early childhood, education, and community services disciplines with some requirement to liaise with researchers and research leaders in the “connected child” and “healthy child” areas.

The successful applicant will also be required to obtain and maintain a Working with Children Check and have full Covid immunisation.

Key criteria

Completion of a relevant degree in education (preferable early childhood) or community services or equivalent level of expertise gained from a combination of experience, training or professional accreditation.

1-5 years’ experience in the education or community service area with previous experience undertaking research ideally with qualitative and systematic review skills.

Demonstrated ability to contribute to research outcomes including journal articles, conference papers and book chapters.

Experience of recruiting participants and/or a track record of research with children and their families is advantageous.
