The Role

The role plays a pivotal part within the Finance Team and assists the Research Finance Team Leader, Researchers, Institute and Centre Managers in the execution of their roles by being the single point of contact for External Grant funding issues.

On a day-to-day basis you will:

  • Coordinate and process Research Grant budgets and forecast information.
  • Be the point of contact to resolve Grant finance queries and investigations.
  • Monitor actual to budget variances, including the conducting of a monthly financial analysis.
  • Provide financial transaction statements as required.
  • Prepare financial documents as required, such as financial transactions and invoices.
  • Conduct analysis to prepare research data reports.
  • Account management of research projects.

What you’ll bring to this role

  • Relevant degree or a combination of experience and/or education/training.
  • Demonstrated skill and experience with complex numeracy tasks.
  • Computer literacy skills; with experience working with spreadsheets and accounting applications.
  • High level attention to detail, analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Effective teamwork, communication, and interpersonal skills, with the ability to interact with staff at all levels of the organisation.
  • Adept organisational, time, and workload management skills.
