Research Development And Governance Officer

An exciting opportunity has become available for an experienced Research Development and Governance Officer to join the NBMLHD. The Research Development and Governance Officer will support all aspects of research to be conducted at NBMLHD including research capacity development, and through to achieving timely required review approvals.

The Research Development and Governance Officer will oversee the implementation and ongoing activity of the Research Quality Management Framework across NBMLHD to ensure patient safety in clinical research and quality research study execution in accordance with applicable prevailing laws, Good Clinical Practice (GCP) and NBMLHD policies and operating procedures. This role works across NBMLHD to provide advice on research quality and compliance related issues.

The Research Development and Governance Officer demonstrates a capacity for leadership as responsibilities include process change and leading the resolution of complex issues relating to research governance and quality requirements and improvements within NBMLHD’s Research Operations.

• Appropriate tertiary qualifications and/or relevant equivalent professional experience in health and medical research.

• Demonstrated knowledge of health and medical research within a health services environment, including certification of Good Clinical Practice.

• Sound understanding of the legislation, codes and guidelines relevant to research ethics and governance of research conduct, including knowledge of the authorisation process of medical research in Australia.

• High level interpersonal, oral and written communication skills.

• Proven ability to work with formal risk management mechanisms for the protection of research participants.

• Proven ability to work with mandatory health service information or data platforms such as REGIS.
