Renewable Asset Engineer

Description:

The purpose of this position is to manage our growing portfolio of operational renewable and storage assets (256 MW of wind and solar, 100 MW / 200 MWh of storage with plans to build out at least) – ensuring the assets meet their technical and commercial objectives. Assets under management include Synergy-owned assets and assets owned by Bright Energy Investments (BEI) (a joint venture between Synergy and our investment partners), and these facilities are critical to ensuring Synergy meets its decarbonisation objectives. The position works closely with the Future Energy team, Synergy, BEI and third party suppliers and contractors.

Key Responsibilities Of The Role Include
 

• Develop and deliver on asset management plans while Identify opportunities to improve asset performance (availability, generation, maintenance cost);
• Effective engagement with stakeholders – asset owners, operators and maintainers, host landowners, Western Power and AEMO
• Effective engagement with business stakeholders to identify requirements, understand commercial drivers and contribute to the design of solutions.
• Provide recommendations to SynergyRED Manager of Operations and other team members and lead the development and delivery of strategic operations readiness, and asset management initiatives;
• Develop and maintain SOPs and manage compliance to effectively operate and maintain plant and equipment as recommended by OEM.
   

What You’ll Bring
 

• Degree in Electrical or Mechanical or C&I or Renewable Engineering
• Specific experience, skills and knowledge in the following areas is also required:
  • Power station or renewables mechanical, electrical, and controls & instrumentation engineering maintenance models, policies and procedures.
  • Safe working practices and procedures.
  • People, customer, and stakeholder management skills.
• Excellent written and verbal communication.
• Ability to identify innovative uses of technology.
