Description:
The fixed-term, full-time or part-time role of Registrar (Palliative Care) can be either from now until Feb 2025 or from Feb 2025 to Aug 2025, is based at Braeside Hospital in Prairiewood and provides palliative care reviews to patients and works to ensure that medical clinical care is provided to patients of the Palliative Care service, under the supervision of the Specialist-in-charge.
The essence of this role
- Provide in-patient care to people admitted to the Palliative care unit
- Liaise with other members of the multi-disciplinary team in providing patient care
- Maintain an appropriate standard of personal professionalism at all times and in all activities undertaken
- Implement a personal learning program for the term in conjunction with their Specialist Supervisor
- Participate in after-hours care of palliative care inpatients

Essential
- Commitment to engage and align with HammondCare’s Christian Mission, Motivation and Mission in Action
- Unrestricted NSW Medical Board Registration or eligibility for Unrestricted NSW Registration
- Primary Medical degree, eligible for Medical Board registration, and a minimum of two years supervised practice as an RMO
- Experience in Palliative Medicine or related specialty with competence in the individual specialty area expected to be consistent with the level of training and professional development stage attained by the individual occupying the position
- Strong administrative and computer skills
- Ability to work both independently and as part of a team
- Current Driver’s License
- Demonstrated excellent verbal, written and interpersonal skills
- Demonstrated ability to work effectively in a team
- Organisational ability – both personal organisation and ability to supervise others
- Demonstrated compassion and caring attitude.
