The National Registration and Accreditation Scheme (the National Scheme) regulates more than 740,000 registered health practitioners and over 180,000 registered students across 16 health professions.

We are seeking expressions of interest from nurses and midwives to be examiners in the Objective Structured Clinical Examination (OSCE).

Examiners play a vital role in the process of delivering a reliable and fair assessment process. Examiners will utilise their professional knowledge of the nature and culture of the profession in order to test candidate knowledge and proficiency in an exam setting.

We are seeking expressions of interest from nurses and midwives to be examiners in the Objective Structured Clinical Examination (OSCE) for:

  • Registered Nurses
  • Enrolled Nurses
  • Midwives.

The following are the essential examiner skills and eligibility criteria:

  • Current, unrestricted registration with the NMBA:
    as a midwife for the Midwifery OSCE, and/or
    as a RN for the RN and EN OSCEs, and/or
    as an EN for the EN OSCE.
    and
  • Relevant post-graduate qualification (Australian Qualifications Framework Level 8 or above) in a health-related discipline.
  • Clinical experience and/or clinical supervision experience, within Australia for a minimum of five years relevant to the profession you are expressing interest in being an examiner for.
  • Current clinical practice and/or clinical supervision within the last two years relevant to the profession you are expressing interest in being an examiner for.
  • Ability to attend OSCE examinations currently held in Adelaide.

The following are the desirable but not essential examiner skills and eligibility criteria:

  • Nursing, midwifery or other education qualifications or experience.
  • Experience in the assessment of nursing, midwifery and/or other health professions via the OSCE modality.

Examiners will be remunerated for their time.

For those examiners from interstate, travel and accommodation expenses will be covered.
