Purchasing Specialist

 

Description:

My client is seeking a Procurement/Purchasing Specialist for a short term contract, with potential to extend.

Role Responsibilities
 

  • Provide procurement expertise on policies and procedures.
  • Ensure compliance of procurement guidelines and requirements during the procuring process.
  • Advise and assist with the procurement system and its process.
  • Expedite timely closure of orders by internally expediting stakeholder.
  • Solicit bids and prepare approval recommendations.
  • Identify and establish preferred suppliers.
  • Purchase goods and services according to established standards, ensuring value for money.
  • Negotiate product savings with suppliers and explore process improvements.
     

Skills, Experience And Attributes
 

  • Demonstrated strong ERP software skills (SAP MM)
  • Experienced within an engineering focussed environment, highly regarded
  • Develop and maintain strong and effective working relationships with stakeholders.
  • Excellent knowledge of purchasing to allow you to hit the ground running.
  • Minimum 5 years' experience within a similar role
  • Excellent interpersonal, verbal and written communication skills
