Purchasing Manager

We are looking for a State Purchasing Manager for QLD to join our highly skilled team. The role of the Purchasing Manager is responsible for managing the purchasing and inventory activities covering a diverse range of goods and services. The role will manage a team of purchasing officers to deliver KPIs and time sensitive requirements for Downer EDI Rail Pty Ltd in Maryborough, QLD. You will develop key relationships with internal and externally stakeholders. You will ensure purchasing governance is enforced with optimal performance and efficiency of the purchasing function in QLD.

Your purchasing team will evaluate quotations received, ensure preferred vendors are used and process requisitions through to deliver accurate Purchase Orders. Other responsibilities your team will deliver are invoice error correction, inventory/vendor management and maintaining accurate system data. Managing employee tasks and personal development plans will be required in a timely fashion. P2P reporting on statistics for the region will be required on deliverable KPI’s.

To Be Successful In This Role You Will Have
 

• Held a similar role managing a team of 5 or more in Purchasing with Inventory of spare parts with large number of SKU’s.
• Experience with mechanical and electrical parts and associated suppliers.
• Experience adhering to strict company policies and procedures.
• Experience with PO reporting, inventory analysis and replenishment planning.
• Proficient using ERP and MRP systems.
• Strong Communication Skills
• Experience working in a fast-paced environment.
• Experience with managing escalations for invoice and cost centre approval resolutions.
• Experience with Capital Expenditure PO management
