Description:
As the Projects Safety Manager, you will play a vital role in implementing and maintaining a comprehensive safety program that encompasses various aspects of our client's operations. You will collaborate closely with Design & Network Development and Safety, Health & Wellbeing teams to integrate safety in all projects and initiatives. You will also provide expert direction, mentoring, and guidance to ensure that safety standards and legislative requirements are met throughout Supply Chain Development projects, including warehouse designs and expansions.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead the implementation of Safety in Design standards
- Provide expert direction and guidance on safety standards and legislative requirements for Supply Chain Development projects
- Conduct quantitative risk assessments during project phases
- Mentor project teams on regulatory and legislative safety requirements
- Establish strong relationships with internal and external stakeholders
- Manage the Serious Safety Incidents (SSI's) program and report to the Executive Team and Board
- Implement a framework for benchmarking and gathering intelligence on emerging safety technologies and practices
- Provide thought leadership on safety strategy and performance optimisation
- Facilitate business partnering to drive change and implement safety initiatives
Requirements:
- Bachelor's degree, preferably in Engineering, Safety or a related field
- Minimum 5 years' experience in Safety, Health & Wellbeing
- Strong knowledge of safety legislation, codes of practice, and standards
- Highly desirable is experience with critical/material risk management, plant and equipment related safety requirements, automation, chain of responsibility, warehousing and road transport, contractor management, assurance and verification, psychological and behavioural safety
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills
- Demonstrated ability to influence stakeholders and achieve positive safety outcomes
- Strong track record in delivering safety programs across multi-site operations
- Previous team management and leadership experience
