You will be involved in shaping, mobilising, planning and leading critical projects for key National Security, Defence and Telecommunications customers from our Canberra office.

This role will see you leading projects to deliver transformational capability to our nation’s security, defence and telecommunications organisations. You will be responsible for applying our best capabilities and resources to maximise customer success and team performance. You will manage projects to contract ensuring we achieve schedule, quality, scope, financial and client satisfaction objectives while following our delivery assurance processes.

To be successful;

  • You should have a Project Management qualification/ certificate from a recognised body e.g.
    • PMI, Prince, AMP, AIPM,PMP etc...
  • You will have experience across the software development lifecycle, complex systems integration and infrastructure delivery. You can demonstrate building effective relationships with a range of development staff from architects to testers through your deep knowledge of bespoke software development and delivery.
  • You have managed projects requiring deployment and configuration of systems into customer networks. You can demonstrate management of the dependencies when deploying and commissioning systems and equipment at customer sites and data centres.
  • Experience with the movement and analysis of very large data volumes and cloud migrations or deployments will be highly regarded
  • Experience supporting business winning activities supporting campaigns and bids including bid management or early stage project definition, planning and estimation.
  • You understand project delivery from waterfall to agile and demonstrate knowledge of how and when to apply techniques most appropriately.
  • You have successfully managed both time & materials and fixed price contracts in a consulting or vendor environment demonstrating your expertise in managing the risks and opportunities each represent.
  • You will have at least 5 years' experience performing a similar role. 

This role requires an active NV1 clearance.

Key Responsibilities

  • Mobilise and build required capability including the best available resources on contract award, maintaining this approach throughout project execution, providing leadership to project and programme based staff, with management of suppliers, subcontractors and associates where required.
  • Build and maintain relationships with key stakeholders (external and internal customers) and actively manages the customer’s expectations through appropriate communications, reporting, assurance and governance.
  • Shaping and planning of the project, programme or portfolio including the overall schedule and governance with selection and/or application of appropriate methodologies, processes and tools; refining and enhancing the project, programme or portfolio schedule, resources, estimates and costs to complete and the execution against an agreed schedule, milestones and cost baseline.
  • Pro-active management of internal and external key project, programme or portfolio controls including (but not limited to) RAID, financials (including margin, forecast costs to complete, technical and management contingency, revenue and capital cost), quality, scope and schedule performance, ensuring delivery of the agreed scope against the agreed contract, acceptance criteria, SLAs and change requests.
