Metro Trains, delivery partner of the North West Program Alliance is currently seeking a Senior Project Manager to support current & future alliance projects as part of the Level Crossing Removal Program (LXRP).
 


 

As the Senior Project Manager, reporting directly to the Program Manager you will be responsible for leading a multi-disciplinary team delivering projects within Metro's portion of the contract value of a project, and any other additional agreed works in support of Victoria's "Big Build" Infrastructure program
 


 


 

Key Areas of Responsibility
 


 

  • Metro's interest for the State, lead a team/s and meet deliverables as set by the Project Proposal / Project Brief in accordance with MTM's Franchise Agreement and relevant aspects of the applicable project management framework across the project life cycle.
  • Define applicable aspects of Metro's Project Management Framework (PMF) during planning stage of the project to ensure the PMF is followed.
  • Achieve objectives set for the Alliance/Program to support MTM strategies, business plans and customer expectations
  • Ensures suitable resources, organisational support and commercial viability for MTM to safely deliver the project and setting objectives in line with MTM strategies
  • Manage project team/s and have responsibility for overall project outcomes and utilise a range of project management tools and methodologies on a daily basis with a high degree of competence.
  • Identify, resolve and perform complex technical project management operations
  • Identify and resolve process and operational issues with relevant stakeholders to ensure project Integration can be accomplished to agreed performance characteristics.
  • Develop, support and coach a delivery team to achieve the goals within the safety, time, cost and quality parameters.
  • Operational interface between the Alliance, Metro, the client and other third party stakeholder to ensure that the management of disruption occupation, subcontractors, train control, signalling, commercials, financial reporting, people management and workforce planning is maintained as per the PMP.
  • Support the Program Manager in the strategic support of Tier 1 Contractors and Consultancy partners across the program and key Government Agencies
  • Responsible for testing and commissioning, technical and operational integration and assurance and readiness for service, meeting rail safety requirements, facilitating engineering approvals, protecting rail accreditation and TOC development and submission.
  • Leadership Team responsibilities on the Alliance, including achieving Alliance KPIs and supporting and managing teams as per the alliance organisation chart, shaping the overall workplace culture, stakeholder management to deliver against planned activities against the entire project life cycle. Any other duties as specified by manager or allocated by the Alliance/Project
