Manage this body of work, ensuring requirements and timeframes are met. Responsible for regular progress reports to the QFES, SES and the QPS Reform Implementation Team.

There will be two SES subject matter experts (staff) who will also report to the Project Manager. The two staff will be responsible for develop the new 'Concept of Operations' for communications for Queensland and ensure training material and programs deliver appropriate content to end users. Provide input and direction to the reprogramming effort and ensure that decisions effecting SES communications are represented by and consulted to the SES leadership team.

Telstra have been engaged by QPS to develop a codeplug for SES, as well as develop a rollout program to all SES Government Wireless Network (GWN) radios in South East Queensland.

The system provides for field and monitored radio communications. The operating model has a duress system (tactical) to allow field and base alarm monitoring 24/7 by the Watchdesk.

SES General Queensland channels will also be included in the SES GWN Codeplug, so all GWN Radios will be able to move throughout Queensland and interoperate with non-GWN equipped SES Groups. Note: the programming of SES Radios outside the GWN Service Area/ and fringe is excluded from this project.
