An opportunity is available to join Mercy Health’s Caring for People and Planet team in Strategy, Planning & Major Projects as Emissions Reduction Project Manager.

The Emissions Reduction Project Manager will work as a key part of a team that is dedicated to operationalising the Caring for People and Planet strategy across Mercy Health. The role will work to provide Project Management expertise to key emissions reduction projects, as informed by Mercy Health’s carbon footprint study. Initial priority areas will include energy efficiency and renewable electricity options, food waste and medical gases. The role will contribute to the development of business cases in relation to emissions reduction initiatives. Applicants with substantial demonstrated experience in leading organisational change via environmental sustainability initiatives will be considered favourably.
This position will work from the Support Services Corporate Office in Richmond, with travel to other sites as required. Home based options for work duties on some days may be negotiated.
The Caring for People and Planet team works closely and collaboratively across Mercy Health’s Health Services, Aged Care Services and Support Services.
About You
Master degree in Environmental Management or similar. Health professional background, and / or experience in healthcare or aged care, or Engineering qualifications will be highly regarded
Demonstrated expertise in relation to climate change and environmental sustainability, and project manager experience including large scale organisation change in relation to environmental sustainability initiatives. Highly development carbon literacy and numeracy and associated technical data skills
Demonstrated experience in working productively with a range of stakeholders and maintenance of collaborative and cooperative relationships
Experience in successful business case development, including the use of research and data analysis to provide compelling justification for proposals.
