Project Geologist

 

Description:

Our client is a growing Mining House with a diverse range of commodity exposure who has recently expanded their hard rock operation in WA. The mine is looking to add to the technical expertise on site in the Geology team.

 

This role is strategically very important for the mine as it looks to deliver resource extension plans, you will contribute to ongoing projects by designing drill programs, build geological models and conducting grade control models/analysis.

 

Reports to: Chief Geologist

 

Duties

  • Design, execution and management of drill programs to enhance resource development.
  • Collection, management, and collation of geological data ensuring validated data is available, including direct drilling data collection from drill core, RC chip, air core and rotary mud drilling.
  • Geological modelling and interpretation of drill targets, mineralization and ore wireframes, and providing generative advice based on interpretation.
  • Be a key member in the design and development of Standard Operating Procedures for resource development activities.
  • Interpret and validate the geology and assay value results to guarantee the integrity and reliability of the geological database.
  • Liaise with Mine Engineering and Studies Teams

 

Qualifications and Requirements

  • Degree in Geology
  • Minimum 5 Years Industry Experience
  • Exposure to Mining Software preferably Micromine or Leapfrog
  • Excellent Communication Skills for Inter-Departmental Liaison
