Ventia is a leading infrastructure services company, operating across Australia and New Zealand. Our clients are the owners and operators of assets that are critical to our local communities.
In partnership with the Australia Defence Force, we are seeking a Project Finance Manager to support our National Clothing Store Services (NCSS) contract.
Reporting to the Senior Finance Manager, you will business partner with the NCSS Operations teams, providing advice and support to the business to make informed financial decisions.
This is a permanent, full time role based in Cremorne, Victoria.
Duties
- Provide value stream based financial insights to operation managers and actively investigate root causes behind variances to targets (activity volume & cost control).
- Conduct meetings on value drivers with specific actions to drive meeting of targets.
- Conduct monthly reviews of financial results.
- Assist in preparation of financial analysis on all business cases to ensure correct governance as per DOA (including operating and capital cases) and review of financial Risks and Opportunities to Finance Manager & EMOS Managers.
- Actively identify opportunities for improvement to the P&L and drive/coordinate closure in the ledger.
- Educate and mentor contract personnel on their understanding of the finance function and finance processes, in line with areas of responsibility.
- Completes profit centre balance sheet reconciliations on a rotational basis and review with Senior Finance Manager and Group Compliance.
Skills
This role acts as a key liaison between the business and the Defence clients as well as Ventia’s stakeholders therefore you must have outstanding communication skills. In addition, we are looking for:
- A bachelors’ degree in business, finance commerce or accounting.
- CA or CPA qualified preferable
- Ability to deliver tasks quickly within a dynamic, high-pressure environment.
- Ability to work with large volumes of data & ability to quickly, efficiently, effectively test completeness and accuracy of datasets.
- Ability to influence non-Finance personnel, specifically influencing targeted & non-distracted focus on key performance indicators.
- Maintain good working relationship with operational managers, Zone GM and support functions.
- Experience in ASM, P2P, C2C, PCB, FICO preferable.
- Broad detailed knowledge and experience in SAP preferable, specifically in FICO.
