Project Engineer

 

Description:

As an Electrical Project Engineer, you will ensure safe and quality delivery of large-scale complex infrastructure projects to the approved scope considering time and cost metrics while meeting the safety, customer and community, environmental and construction standards, and expectations.

This role will report to the Senior Project Manager with a base location at Southbank, Victoria. We support flexible working practices in a truly hybrid workplace, so we’re happy to discuss what this might look like for you.

  • Actively support the senior project manager in planning, forecasting, reporting and oversight of the delivery of power infrastructure projects focusing on transmission network infrastructure.
  • Contribute to pre-contracts project development phase including interpreting the needs, expectations and limitations of customers’ and stakeholders’ requirements to produce commercially competitive proposals and fit-for-purpose technical solutions.
  • Manage engineering aspects and troubleshoots problems during the delivery of projects to derive efficient and effective solutions.
  • Contribute to the assessment and management of project and network risks and opportunities, ensuring project constructability, operability, and maintainability to improve overall project delivery safety and productivity performance.
  • Accountable for ensuring design compliance and quality assurance on technical deliverables of the projects including ensuring safe work procedures are practiced throughout delivery of projects.
  • Provide insights for continuous improvement of project management and engineering processes to improve overall service offering to our customers.
  • Experience with substation construction projects will be highly valued.
  • While maintaining safety, effectively handle multiple tasks, set priorities, manage timeframes, and meet expectations under pressure.
  • Possess the commercial awareness and decisiveness attributes to make objective
  • High voltage power transmission knowledge and construction management experience
  • Demonstrated success in delivering outstanding customer service and developing strong and positive relationships with the customers, colleagues, and peers.
  • Strategic and analytical thinker with the ability to communicate, guide and manage project teams, stakeholders to deliver projects within budgets and on time.
  • Demonstrated experience on safety leadership and a history of championing safety initiatives.
  • The incumbent will be required to frequently travel and have overnight stay at sites within Victoria/Interstate to manage progress of projects.
  • Computer skills to include MS Word, advanced Excel and advanced MS Project skills. SAP and Primavera P6 are desirable.
