The Organisation
The NRMA Energy & Infrastructure division is a newly created team backed by significant government funding. It is focused on the development of a national network of EV charging stations (solar or grid powered).
The Role
The Project Control Analyst will work closely with the Project Managers and senior leaders of this division to ensure the best financial planning and governance of multiple EV charging station construction projects. They will also take a helicopter view of the whole program of work and assist the Commercial Strategy Manager with the day to day management of the P&L. In more details they will be tasked to;
- Develop robust project cost forecast with regular detailed analysis and updates for project Estimate to Complete (ETC) and Estimate at Completion (EAC).
- Perform variance and trend analysis against budget, latest annual estimate and Estimate at Completion.
- Provide oversight of Contractors' work packages ensuring costs are monitored / reported in compliance with approved Contractor Project Controls Plan and invoices are properly validated.
- Review and challenge forecast and cost phasing.
- Participate in monthly meeting with Project Leads, guiding the team in all cost related issues for their assigned packages.
- Ensure early recognition and warning to stakeholders of adverse cost trends impacting agreed cost targets and budgets and assessing risks and opportunities that may impact the current forecast.
- Manage the development and provide input in the annual corporate budget and liaise with Finance in review/rollup of annual corporate budget.
- Coordinate preparation of additional funding requests.
- Coordinate the development and provision of monthly reports (presentations, reports to management and stakeholders etc.) for both internal and external purposes.
- Facilitate and manage monthly Cost Forecast reviews with Project Leads and Project Director.
- Develop and maintain the project manpower plan.
The Ideal Candidate
- A proven track record in the financial monitoring and governance of construction projects
- The ability to evaluate financial risk to projects and advise the executive accordingly
- P&L analysis and reporting experience
