Project Architect

Due to continued growth Here Studio is now looking for a Project Architect / Experienced Graduate of Architecture with a positive can-do attitude, strong early skills across the gamut of the architectural process and demonstrated experience in leading small to medium residential projects.

 

Being supported by and working closely with the directors, this role focuses on maintaining the quality and practicality of design outputs as a team, continuing to collaborate with clients to design building plans, working closely with consultants throughout the process and builders onsite, and be responsible for completing assigned projects from initial design through to documentation in alignment with Here Studio values.

 

We are in need of someone who can:

  1. Support and learn to lead our unique design methods for Concept Design and Design Development, that includes contributing to simple iterations, hand-sketching, Sketchup modelling, Indesign presentations, and structured written reports and;
  2. Produce full sets of drawings and schedules for Construction Documentation efficiently, and set an example for junior team members to follow.  The emphasis of the position is on eventually running residential projects start to finish, in a capable and dependable way.

 

As per all of our team members, the job will include marketing and sales – supporting our team approach. This may include social media, engaging with potential leads, meeting qualified leads, and preparing fee proposals. The person we seek has great energy and passion, looking to join a practice that is growing, and open to expanding into a range of different areas.

 

This is a varied role and will see you undertaking a variety of responsibilities including:

 

Project management

  • Lead architect from Concept to delivery, with strong involvement during Documentation and possibly Contract Administration
  • Working in the sectors of residential (new-build houses, extensions, renovations, and medium density housing), and possibly educational, and community buildings
  • Working on multiple projects at different stages, multitasking and reporting back to Director or Associate Director
  • Co-ordination and integration of authorities, consultants, and contractor (preferred) throughout the project
  • Preparing Town Planning and Building Permit applications
  • Liaising closely and workshopping with clients including providing updates and advice throughout the stage i.e., working within a collaborative process;
  • Carrying out the tendering process with prospective builders using office systems and processes
  • Updating Cost of Works and architectural fees as the project progresses and updating internal budget changes in the project management software
