About the role

The Marketing Discipline Group is recruiting for a Professor of Marketing who is a leading authority within their discipline and has an international reputation for excellence. The successful candidate will contribute to the leadership and strategic direction of the University by participating in collegial governance and decision-making and foster a culture of excellence through guiding academic staff and students towards success.

To maintain their reputation, the Professor of Marketing will actively contribute to research and scholarship, academic debate, policy development and innovation within the University and the broader community. The ideal candidate will have a keen interest in consumer behaviour, digital marketing, social marketing and marketing for social good.

The successful candidate must have a PhD in Marketing or related discipline and be able to demonstrate all the selection criteria listed on the final page of the position statement.

With examples, please outline how you meet the following four (4) key selection criteria points:

1. A proven record of research in Marketing, with evidence of publication in journals recognised globally as the best in the area (e.g. JM, JCR, JMR, and Marketing Science) as well as an active and ongoing research agenda and a record of attracting research funding.

2. Demonstrated ability to provide academic leadership, and experience in the administration of courses and other administrative duties in a tertiary institution.

3. Capacity to maintain effective relations and communicate effectively with a range of stakeholders including students and colleagues at all levels. Ability to co-operate and collaborate in a team environment as evidenced by good interpersonal skills in communication, negotiation, conflict resolution and presentations.

4. Demonstrated interests aligned to the UTS Business School’s vision to be a socially-committed Business School focused on developing and sharing knowledge for an innovative, sustainable and prosperous economy in a fairer world.
