The Role
The Business Services Discipline within the School of Business and Law is comprised of high performing, scholarly and impact-oriented academics who seek to transform lives and enrich society through their research, teaching and engagement activities. The group comprise Marketing, Hospitality and Tourism, Innovation and Entrepreneurship, Sport, and Event Management disciplines.
The teaching profile of the Business Services group encompasses programs, majors, minors, specialisations, and units in the fields of marketing, innovation, entrepreneurship, hospitality and tourism, event management, sport management and data analytics, at both the undergraduate and postgraduate level. Teaching is delivered in a variety of modes spanning face-to-face, intensive and block delivery, hybrid, online, with some units delivered in accelerated online formats.
The Business Services Discipline seeks to make an academic appointment at the Professor level in the areas of Marketing and Innovation. Priority areas of expertise could include but not limited to, the following areas: marketing strategy, digital marketing, data analytics, branding, innovation management, design thinking and creativity.
Successful appointees will demonstrate capability in leadership whilst undertaking high-quality, engaging research that meaningfully contributes to business practice, with either an emphasis in marketing and/or innovation/entrepreneurship creating positive educational and societal impact. The Discipline has an excellent track-record of providing a learner-centred pedagogy that is supportive and inclusive of diverse groups of people, with a large focus on advancing work-integrated learning and job-ready skills through the curriculum. The Discipline places emphasis on a wholistic and integrative approach to education, research and engagement.
