Within RBS, the Retail Wealth team is responsible for the strategy, operations and distribution of the Bank’s wealth products through its various retail channels in order to protect, secure and enhance the financial wellbeing of our customers. We currently have a fixed term contract opportunity for a Product Manager in our Retail Wealth Products team whose focus is on building the future of Life Insurance, as well as managing and growing the existing portfolio. Based in Sydney, this 6 month contract role could potentially be extended depending on business requirements / funding etc.

You will be responsible for business planning, development and delivery of customer and business opportunities to improve the existing portfolio, and legacy products and will also contribute to the development of new, innovative Life Insurance customer propositions and its distribution through CBA’s Retail Banking channels.

In this role, you will support driving performance of the Retail Wealth portfolio, including growing market share, and driving revenue against targets, whilst ensuring excellent customer experience and risk management. This will require you to work jointly with our internal and external business partners, including 3rd Party product manufacturer AIA, to support the development and launch of new innovative customer propositions or improve the existing portfolio.

The role will see you regularly engaging and collaborating with internal/external stakeholders and partners to influence product design, features and pricing to ensure they meet our customers’ needs. You will provide key input to the design of end-to-end customer experience and distribution processes in various retail channels (including direct channels and digital) and will support Product Managers and project teams with progressing key project activities, for example the development of business cases, key project artefacts and product documentation.

Additional Responsibilities Will Include

  • Planning and leading the promotional efforts for new or enhanced products, including both internal and external marketing, advertising, communication and training, and relationship building activities.
  • Monitoring business results of recently introduced or enhanced products and recommending modifications in product features, pricing, and marketing approaches to improve results.
  • Responsible for proactively managing risks associated to the product
  • Managing change to continuously improve the product offering and processes to facilitate the overall customer experience.
  • Assisting the Senior Product Manager in monitoring the marketplace, with regards to direct competitors and assessing product trends and results in order to recommend new products or features for the organization.
  • Developing and designing the features of a designated new product or enhancement to address an identified market need or opportunity. 

We’re interested in hearing from people who have the following skills, experience and qualifications: 

  • Previous work experience in a Retail Banking / Wealth product development team.
  • Some previous Life insurance market knowledge would also be ideal.
  • Tertiary qualification in a business or related field preferred.
  • Exceptional communication, influencing and stakeholder management skills.
  • Highly customer focused and with a strong risk mindset..
  • S trong problem-solving capabilities
  • An ability to balance strategic objectives, risk, customer and business outcomes.
