This exciting role has responsibility to deliver effective procurement frameworks, governance, systems and training that enables the university to optimise value across the supply chain in a streamlined way. It will lead a team providing analytical support to the procurement business partners, useful insights and reporting, and communication of successes to uplift the procurement function’s profile. The role has responsibility for delivering an effective travel program that is efficient, controls cost, and supports traveler safety. The role will also lead the commercial property portfolio to optimise the amenity offering across our campuses, generate income, and coordinate property transactions.

This role requires a leader who is commercially astute, confident to challenge the status quo, and remains up to date with best practice developments in the external market to deliver innovative and effective solutions. You should have a track record in delivering procurement excellence programs across policy, people and systems. And, be a commercial thinker with experience across property contracts, management and transactions.

The role will also provide support to the Director on procurement or commercial projects to deliver on Swinburne’s Horizon 2025 strategy.
To be suitable for this role you will need to have experience in the below key accountabilities:

  • Substantial experience in procurement or commercial roles, across a broad range of categories
  • Experience delivering procurement practice enhancement and change initiatives, with proven success and stakeholder satisfaction
  • Experience in property/asset management, leasing portfolio financial management, or property-related category procurement
  • Extensive experience in delivering results and innovative solutions in large complex organisations
  • Proven ability to successfully manage multiple and complex projects and hold a commitment to meeting timelines
