Description:

The Procurement & Contracts Specialist will collaborate with senior managers to provide procurement and contract management expert advice to the Major Projects Senior Leadership team.

This role is an integral part of the Major Projects team of this key transport infrastructure asset owner that will deliver a number of key transport projects in Queensland over the next decade. The Procurement & Contracts Specialist will work in a small team alongside the Procurement & Contract Management Manager within Program Services to manage the procurement process and lead the contract administration activities of multiple contracts.

The Procurement & Contracts Specialist will collaborate with senior managers to provide procurement and contract management expert advice to the Major Projects Senior Leadership team.

There will be flexibility to work from home with some time required in the Brisbane CBD office.

Key Responsibilities
 

  • Manage all stakeholder aspects of procurement and contract management including pre-tender issues, scope changes, tender evaluation, approval and contracting.
  • Lead the negotiations and successfully navigate the governance obligations.
  • Play a role in supplier management, managing contracts to achieve optimal commercial outcomes, including resolving contract disputes and being Chair of contract meetings.
  • Manage the supplier performance review process.
  • Assist in developing best practice framework, governance, policies, standards and work procedures across procurement and contract management.
  • Identify areas of improvement within procurement and contract management frameworks to develop strategies for improvement.
     

We Are Seeking Candidates Who Have
 

  • Specialised experience in Procurement and Contract Management preferably in major infrastructure projects with a heavy focus on consultancy/professional services.
  • Extensive knowledge of, and experience in, procurement and contracts legislation and other contractual requirements in a commercial environment.
  • High level of skill in developing and managing strategic relationships with vendors.
  • Extensive level of skill in dealing with large scale commercial contract matters.
  • High level of influencing, consultation, relationship building, and negotiation skills.
  • Experience in developing and implementing best practice procurement and contract management frameworks, governance, and methodologies.
