Principal Resource Geologist

A well respected and dynamic mining geology consultancy is looking for a skilled Principal Resource Geologist that is skilled and passionate to provide expert geological advice and assessments for blue chip global and local mining companies. This role reports to world recognised experts within a highly professional and entrepreneurial organisation that is growing rapidly due to its innovative and practical solutions and it’s effective professional team.

They are looking for +15 years experience gained in operations and consulting. Must have extensive consulting experience and be able to handle a number of consulting projects at one time for different clients.

Lead teams and client solutions for a diverse range of mining clients.

Duties include in large:

• Conduct resource estimation work.
• Carry out geological modelling, wireframing, and other elements in the resource estimation process.
• Write technical reports, contribute to the peer review and technical editing of reports.
• Conduct technical due diligence work on client projects.
• Review client quality assurance procedures and quality control data and validate drillhole and other exploration or production data.
• Conduct Competent Person/Qualified Person site visits.
• Sign off on JORC, NI 43-101 or other related Code reports as Competent Person or Qualified Person in line with the requirements of those Codes and your experience.
• Assist with and provide technical support for exploration programmes.
• Train and mentor junior team members and contractors.
• Participate in client progress meetings.
• Participate in and conduct training and professional development programmes.
• Support the General Manager Business Development with client communications and conference representation, and the drafting of work proposals.
