Our client, a large QLD Government department is seeking a ICT Principal Program Officer to assist in a range of project and program tasks. This role is offering above market rates and flexibility.
This is initial contract until 30 June 2023 with possible extension, based in Brisbane CBD.
Key responsibilities are as follows:
- Provide pragmatic advice and guidance to key stakeholders, project teams and delivery areas in the preparation of project documentation and practical application of project and program planning, implementation and reporting processes.
- Develop and improve foundational processes to monitor and report on Public Trustee's suite of strategic initiatives, including consolidated lists, schedules, registers and systems required to capture progress and identify deviations from plans.
- Assist delivery areas to identify and assess project and program risks, and ensure issues are documented, reviewed, considered and escalated as appropriate.
- Coordinate and prepare documentation, communications and supporting activities for the Customer First and Strategic Initiatives Implementation Committee (including provision of secretariat support)
- Prepare presentations, performance reports and dashboards for governance bodies and senior executives to enable effective oversight and assessment of risks, issues and performance of strategic initiatives against key indicators.
- Provide feedback and information gathered from business areas to assist the Portfolio Management Office team with development of clear, well-written procedures, manuals, guidelines and training materials intended to build project and program capability within the Public Trustee.
Competencies and skills required include:
- Proven ability to quickly build rapport and develop effective relationships with key stakeholders at all levels and across various functions.
- Significant experience in the practical application of contemporary project and program management policies and methodologies, including establishment of supporting systems and processes that support governance, monitoring and reporting of programs.
- Effective consultation, facilitation, and negotiation skills, with demonstrated ability to design, adapt and deliver training and guidance materials to meet individual stakeholder needs and project management capability levels.
- High-level analytical, conceptual and problem-solving skills, with the ability to undertake objective, systemic analysis, draw accurate conclusions based on evidence and present information clearly and concisely.
- Intermediate knowledge of Microsoft Office 365 products, including SharePoint and Power BI.
- Proven ability to achieve outcomes and deliver intended results under pressure within a short timeframe. Qualifications in project, program or portfolio management are desirable, and qualifications in training and assessment would be highly regarded.
