DRD are currently looking for a Experienced Principal Environmental Consultant for a leading technical Consulting company in the Mining Sector. The ideal candidate will have strong experience managing projects, legislation and environmental impact assessments.
About The Role
- Full-time role
- Perth-based, with some requirements for domestic and international travel ad-hoc as needed.
Key Responsibilities:
- Co-ordinate and manage Environmental Impact Assessments and provide project advice.
- Scope, manage and edit multiple technical studies.
- Use technical Scopes to meet desired project outcomes and deliveries.
- Manage multidisciplinary teams to meet specified project goals.
- Administer contracts and scopes of work
- Liaise with various stakeholders including statutory authorities, business owners and various stakeholders Manage clients and client expectations
- Develop a credible and trusting relationship with clients
Requirements:
- Strong experience in the resource sector
- Experience in the practical interpretation and application of the Qld, NT and commonwealth Legislation (Environment assessment Act, Mining Management Act).
- Excellent skills in Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint and Outlook are essential
- Experience mentoring a team of engineers
- knowledge of the Queensland Legislation (Planning Act and SSRC Act) and Northern Territory Legislation (Water Act);
- Ability to work autonomously under legislative guidelines and implement quality solutions
- Extensive professional relationships within the mining industry
- Proven record in self-managing projects
- Qualifications in environmental management, science or engineering disciplines are required
