The Swinburne University of Technology Centre for Astrophysics and Supercomputing is looking for a Postdoctoral Researcher in Artificial Intelligence for Digital Health.

This exciting opportunity will give the Postdoctoral Researcher a change to play a key role in a major research collaboration between Swinburne University of Technology, Max Kelsen, and the Peter MacCallum Cancer Centre (Peter Mac) as part of a 3-year project funded by the Digital Health Cooperative Research Centre (CRC).

This role will contribute essential background knowledge to enhance the future utilisation of a multimodal real-world patient data management platform for the responsible development of AI-enabled clinical decision support systems. Specifically, this role involves undertaking research into ethical AI frameworks, with a particular focus on the inter-related themes of Machine Learning Operations (MLOps), regulation, and risk assessment.

About You
To be suitable for this role you will need to have experience in the below key accountabilities:

  • Prior experience with research relating to ethical use of artificial intelligence is beneficial, though not essential
  • Demonstrated ability to interpret, analyse and synthesise academic literature, industry reports, and related documentation for presentation as a literature review
  • Demonstrated capacity to work collaboratively and proactively as part of a team, as well as proven ability to work effectively with minimal supervision
  • Ability to contribute to research projects including identifying and tracking milestones, reporting on progress and identifying barriers to completion
