The ARC Centre for Next-Gen Architectural Manufacturing (ArchManu) is a collaborative initiative between UNSW and Swinburne University of Technology which comprises of three labs (Synthesis Lab, Management Lab, and Analytics Lab). Each Lab will target different challenges in digitising the AEC sector and will comprise of 7 PhD Candidates, guided by 1 Postdoctoral Fellow, 2 senior Theme Leads, and a network of supporting academics within UNSW, Swinburne, and international partner institutions.

As such, we have 7 PhD scholarships to offer within each theme lab. Each PhD Candidate will be part of a collaborative research cohort and have the unique opportunity to work closely with renowned industry partner firms who will provide you with real-world experience, exposure to cutting-edge projects, and exciting employment prospects at PhD completion.

About you
To be suitable for this role you will need to have experience in the below key accountabilities:

• Skills, experience and willingness to undertake experimental research that meets industry/project needs
• Demonstrated strong social and adaptive communication skills to interact with a range of people from community, industry and the university sector
• Interpersonal skills including written and oral communication and presentation skills
• Proficiency in data analysis techniques using qualitative software’s (e.g., NVivo).

Qualifications

• A bachelor’s degree honours and/or a research master’s degree in a discipline relevant to the research topic (or equivalent)
• International English Language Testing System (IELTS) or equivalent (e.g., Pearson Test of English (PTE) examination certificate with a minimum overall score of 6.5 with no individual band score below 6.0
