Ruah Community Services is looking for Peer Recovery Worker
Who are we looking for?
It is expected that the successful applicant will be able to demonstrate the following:
- A Lived or Living Experience of Recovery, mental health challenges, AOD issues, family or domestic violence or homelessness, or cultural peer perspective, identifying as a consumer and demonstrating a professional understanding of how to use this to inform work as a Peer.
- Ability to model emotional maturity, coping skills and resilience.
- Willingness and ability to identify your own mental health and other wellbeing needs and commitment to seek the appropriate supports.
- A strong understanding of Trauma Informed Practice principles and ability to implement this in day-to-day practice with colleagues and clients.
- Relevant experience contributing to understanding and ability to work in a busy hospital setting.
- Certificate IV in Peer Work, community work related qualification or similar level studies.
- Strong interpersonal and effective communication skills.
- Ability to engage with individuals with different level of needs and build and maintain a professional relationship.
- Ability to work independently and effectively manage time and work priorities and contribute to the functioning of the team.
- Good interpersonal and effective communication skills.
