Description:

We are seeking an experienced Payroll Manager to provide operational leadership in managing the delivery of a reliable, efficient, accurate, and timely payroll services, and in support of the broader division. The Payroll Manager identifies and implements payroll improvements to enable enhanced efficiency, risk management and compliance with industrial instruments, legislation and company policy.

What You’ll Bring To The Role

You'll lead, coach, and develop the Payroll team, developing performance metrics, ensuring compliance, leading process enhancements, and optimising performance, while modelling A&G's values and fostering a high-performance culture.

Reporting into the Head of Payroll and People Systems, the Payroll Manager’s accountabilities include:
 

  • Manage the end-to-end Payroll function including the fortnightly pay, and month and year end processes
  • Manage and deliver team performance within A&G’s operating model and frameworks for continual monitoring, measurement and improvement of productivity, quality and impact
  • Develop and implement process improvements to streamline the payroll function whilst maintaining effective controls commensurate with the different type and levels of risk across the process
  • Maximise Payroll service delivery through the optimisation of available resources based on effective capacity planning, and systems and stakeholder management
  • In conjunction with the Payroll Compliance Specialist and broader People Services functions ensure workforce management and practices that affecting payroll outputs remain complaint with relevant industry instruments
  • Support internal and external audit requirements related to payroll processes and outputs, develop, and implement improvement actions to address findings
  • Proactively stay abreast with payroll legislation, changes, and best practice
     

Qualifications And Experience
 

  • Experience in large end-to-end payroll environments in a Payroll Manager role
  • Experience in the interpretation of Awards, Enterprise Agreements and legislative requirements
  • Demonstrated ability to develop, document and implement payroll processes and controls improvements for compliance and efficiency
  • Demonstrated ability to lead, engage and develop a high performance team
  • Technically confident in navigating payroll system (Aurion experience desirable)
