About the roleThe Procedure Office provides support to the Chamber and senior officers within the Department and is responsible for answering inquiries from the Department's customers. Your key responsibilities will be supervising the Procedure Office's public facing-team on a day-to-day basis and providing advice on policies and procedure and high level customer service to internal and external customers. You will also manage the questions and responses database, process questions and answers to questions and prepare messages from the Assembly to the Council.
The Parliamentary Officer (Information) works extended hours on a rostered basis on sitting days. This includes starting at 8.00 am on Tuesdays, Wednesdays and Thursdays and working until approximately 8.00 pm on some Tuesdays and Wednesdays. Sitting hours can sometimes be unpredictable and on occasions you may be required to work longer.
About youTo succeed in the role, you will have excellent interpersonal and communication skills, enjoy working in a small team, and be able to organise and prioritise work and show initiative. You will have excellent attention to detail, with the ability to produce documents with a high degree of accuracy within tight deadlines. Your analytical, research and writing skills will be a strength.
