Seeking a motivated and experienced Paediatrician to join our friendly and professional team.

The position arises from an incumbent paediatrician opting to work part-time. There is a pro-rata on call component, in addition to outpatient clinic and inpatient ward rounds. A wide range of medical and non-medical problems are seen in this busy clinic.

Job share will be considered.

You will be providing contemporary comprehensive specialist services for optimal patient outcomes by providing support and training to other clinicians in a dynamic multidisciplinary team. Orange Paediatrics is a cohesive and friendly team who strive for excellence, whilst maintaining reasonable work/life balance. Orange Health Service has a 14 bed Child & Adolescent Unit and a 4 bed level 3 Nursery. There is a 10 bed CAMHS in-patient unit, with whom we work closely.

Middle grade cover is provided by two Paediatric Advanced Trainees from The Sydney Children's Hospital Network, as well as Paediatric SRMOs.

There are plentiful opportunities for teaching, both within the hospital and throughout the region. The University of Sydney Rural School of Medicine oversees placement of students at OHS with the paediatricians appointed as Clinical Lecturers to provide education and supervision for rotations in Child and Adolescent Health and Perinatal and Women's Health.

Orange hosts a biennial APLS provider course, as well as PLS and simulation training for students and staff, with four of the paediatricians being APLS instructors.

  • Eligible for registration with the Medical Board of Australia as a Specialist, and/or overseas trained specialist pathways.
  • Demonstrated ability to work effectively as part of a multidisciplinary team and provide leadership of a team.
  • Demonstrated effective clinical communication through the use of information technology and written, verbal and interpersonal skills.
  • Demonstrated commitment to teaching, continuing education, research and quality improvement.
  • Availability to participate in an on-call roster and to respond on site within a reasonable time.
  • Fellowship of the applicable College.
  • Be willing and able to run a busy outpatient clinic, demonstrating experience in managing complex medical and non-medical problems.
  • Current Licence to drive in NSW.
